I have moved from being ‘smart’ to ‘unsmart’ but yet still the elections must go on. The smartness Iam talking about here is about phone not my personality.

My phone isn’t smart anymore. I now plan using a  Torch light phone from Nokia. The best thing I can get from that phone is radio. Hahaha!

Let move back to business as usual. Today’s discussion is all about the presidency and issues with presidency raises a lot of eyebrows. To me for instance, I think the easiest job in this world is being a Ghanaian president. They are the laziest people you can find in this world.

A typical Ghanaian president will occupy the seat and just play around and wait for the next four years for re-election. Basically, when prices are increased in the world market and when fuel prices are increased, expect things to increase as well in Ghana.

What I find it difficult to understand has to do with the fact that are our presidents not  having foresights? Don’t they know things aren’t going to stay the same and must have pre-emptive measures towards them? After all, isn’t that the reason why they are elected?

Let me stop boring once again and let’s move back to business once more. Sometime back, there was an election here where the Blogging president was elected. I imposed myself on you as your electoral commissioner. Today is of no exception. I am still the electoral commissioner whether you like it or not. A self-imposed electoral commissioner for that matter. I am as well the polling agents, external invigilators and whatever pertaining to the elections. Hahaha!

Please pardon my nonsense! Today is all about elections. You and I as a blogger is going to elect a president in this blogosphere.

But before that let us listen to what our out-going president has to say. Oh, in case you don’t know, Madam Ileane of Basic Blog Tips won the presidency during the last elections.

Let the whole hall be silent, the president is about to speak! Hahaha!

Thank you all for this wonderful honour you placed on me as the Blogging President. My tenure saw a lot of success with more bloggers coming into the blogosphere than ever. There was of course massive increase in the number of Bloggers as Basic Blog Tips (my blog) was there to help them out. It served as a resource channel for every blogger and as a gateway for guest posters. No one was left out as every blogger was welcomed.

I stand here not as the first president of the blogophere but as a great personality with humble beginnings and has come a long way in this Blogging arena.

I started blogging in July of 2009 using WordPress.com and Blogger. I spent months preparing myself to launch my first self-hosted WordPress blog. During that time, I learned the importance of building strong connections in the blogosphere through social media, guest posting and community involvement. That I have achieved and set the path for many.

Here are some of the reactions and notable mentions from across the internet

Michele Welch from NewBizBlogger

Ileane Smith from BasicBlogTips.com – Ileane and I connected some time ago but it wasn’t until fairly recent that we’ve really connected as true supporters of each other.  She is a role model that with hard work, persistence and being a stand for other peoples success that what you want in life is absolutely achievable.  She’s a complete joy and anyone who comes in contact with her is richer for it.  Ileane, thank you for being an amazing person and entrepreneur and for your continued support.  You have made a difference in more ways than you know!

Lisa Irby from 2CreateAWebsite

Take a lesson from bloggers like Ileane Smith of BasicBlogTips.com and Brankica Underwood of Blog Like a Star.  Both are very well-known in their spaces and will probably tell you they’ve built the majority of their following through social media.

They don’t just produce great content, but they generously share other people’s work and build relationships with their followers.  Follow them.  You’ll learn a lot.

Now that the president has finished delivering her message, I think it will be prudent to allow the presidential candidates to deliver their messages as well. There were lots of nominations but as a lazy electoral commissioner, please don’t blame me with respect to the number candidates here.

I’m an Engineer by education and a Blogger by profession.
