The word FREE is Dangerous in Blogging
The word ‘Free’ is Dangerous in Blogging. This is my next post. I guess what most of you would like to know is this, what happened to the sale of this blog.
Ok, Kabenlah.com is…. Okay, let me swallow my words now. The most important thing here is that I’m writing again.
Wednesdays are one of my favourite days for writing and today being a Wednesday and yesterday being a Tuesday which was the day for Eid- Adha, I just can’t say I won’t write. Hahaha!
Ghana thrashed Egypt as well in a 6 goal to 1 football match thriller and there can’t being an interesting way to celebrate the Eid other than slaughtering more sheep for enjoyment! Hahaha!
You see what money can do? Each player in the team was promised a hefty $15,000 winning bonus if they defeat Egypt. No wonder Mr. Smith came home shouting and calling out, John! John!! Johnnn!!!, until his little daughter told him, John is playing football!
Better! I thought he was learning. Hahahaha! Everyone now wants his son to be a footballer now. Not soo long, playing football in Ghana was deemed as being a ‘rascal’ and for ‘non-school lovers’ but now look at how things has suddenly taken a U-turn. HAHAHA!
Let’s move back to business as usual. Free is one word which everyone enjoys. Who doesn’t want free stuffs? A free ride here and there, a free meal at least will do. A free nice chat with one lovely girl is great as well.
A free this or that is what the world wants but there is more to anything free. There is one proverb in my local dialect which states, ‘if you crave for free stuffs, you’re likely to eat worms’’. Hahaha!
More-so-over, free is a dangerous word in blogging. There is nothing free in this world. Have you heard of this, cheap is expensive?
Why this post and why I’m I writing it at this time? This is one post which is long overdue but better late than never!
Most newbie bloggers of course were just like me. I sorted out for the cheapest and freest thing one could ever think of.
I bought my first domain on one of the cheapest domain sellers one could ever think of and of course went in for the cheapest webhosting.
What happened within the first week, my blog was hacked twice. Going in for free a free webhosting is what has brought me here today.
I went in for one webhosting by name, Freehosting.com which in actual should have being name expensive-webhosting.com.
What happened at the end?
I ended up loosing a blog with a PR of 2 and an alexa of 90k. Months of hardwork went down the drains just like that simply because I went in for something free!
Even guys on the Google platform in the name of blogger.com since the likelihood of Google shutting down your account without warning is high. I’ve seen blogs shut down by Google without any excuse or further warnings.
The head and tail of this post is simple, just be careful when you come across anything free in Blogging.
What do you deem as being free and dangerous in Blogging? Your thought in the form of comment is really appreciated.
